David L. Davis

David worked as a Senior Developer and client consultant in my team that focused on B2B ecommerce implementations and support. David was excellent to work with, providing invaluable development skills while being able to handle suggestions and criticism well. He always thought about multiple creative solutions to problems, and the clients he faced directly always provided positive feedback. I sincerely hope to again work with David some day in some capacity.

I had the pleasure of meeting David in 2023 when I rejoined the Optimizely team after three years working on a Sitecore project at XCentium.

From the start, David stood out for his kindness and his thoughtful, teaching-oriented approach. He was instrumental in helping me quickly get up to speed with the many developments in the Optimizely platform during my time away.

David consistently demonstrated deep technical expertise across a wide range of frameworks and programming languages.

Beyond his skills, he brought genuine curiosity and a collaborative spirit to every interaction, making him a fantastic colleague to learn from and work alongside. During our time together, we shared many insightful conversations, especially while pursuing certifications such as Sitecore OrderCloud, KIBO, and Optimizely CMS, all required by XCentium. Although we never met in person, I came to truly value David not only as a talented professional but also as a trusted friend. I’m grateful for the time we worked together and proud to have been part of the same team.

I was fortunate enough to work next to David since I began in IT at XCentium in 2023. David is a master programmer whose contribution to our team and projects was absolutely priceless. Coming into the IT industry myself, I frequently found myself hung up on things which, without David, would have burned through endless wasted time. David was never hesitant lend a hand, be it in the form of a quick message, or in-depth walkthrough/debugging call through Teams. David's patience, precision, and technical expertise made him invaluable as a mentor and team member.

He is also cool as hell and very easy to get along with.

David and I worked together at Zayo on their 'Tranzact' portal that allowed users to shop for and purchase telecom services (all the network layers between fiber and IP). One of the features we worked closely on was called 'auto-provisioning' - basically after a customer received a quote they could place an order and stand-up their new network infrastructure same-day in many cases. David led a small team to create a microservices that responded to REST and Kafka bus messages that accepted the order, cross-referenced the necessary hardware databases and sent the correct hardware configurations to the switch management system automatically.

David took a central role designing and implementing this feature. This included coordinating meetings with stakeholders, pulling in the right teams to interface with and providing updates as required. David communicates very effectively and had the drive to see this feature through to completion. I enjoyed working with David as we implemented and debugged our collective pieces of this solution and would gladly work with him again in the future!

I had the pleasure of working with David during my time at Zayo, where we were on separate teams supporting the same product — Zayo’s Tranzact customer portal. One key initiative where our teams collaborated closely was a feature that enabled users to quote, order, and activate services — often within the same day. My team owned the quote-to-order process, while David’s team handled provisioning of the services.

David and I partnered on building a progress tracker that allowed users to monitor the provisioning status of their services. Throughout this effort, David was a fantastic collaborator. He provided clear architectural documentation for his proposed backend solution, and we communicated frequently to address challenges as they arose. The end result was a robust implementation and one of the most seamless cross-functional collaborations I’ve experienced in my career.

Beyond his technical skills, David is an exceptional colleague. He is approachable, supportive, and always willing to share knowledge or brainstorm ideas with teammates, regardless of their experience level. He takes full ownership of his domain and communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

I would gladly work with David again and recommend him without hesitation.

I had the good fortune to work with Dave at Allegion for several years on a large legacy application for commercial access management. As a senior .NET developer, Dave consistently demonstrated strong technical skills, curiosity, and a proactive approach to his work.

I was just starting out in my career as a mobile developer back then, and I appreciated Dave's willingness to help—whether it was walking me through complex code, diving into bugs, or troubleshooting issues. He was always approachable, quick to assist, and had a talent for providing clear, actionable feedback. Beyond his technical skills, Dave was a great teammate and a genuinely good person to work with. I always looked forward to collaborating with him and valued the camaraderie we built.
